Halifax Bank Of Scotland
Halifax Bank Of Scotland PAM System
Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBoS) procurement group were in a bit of a pickle. They needed a system to direct and manage their procurement activity and had struggled through 13 versions of the User Requirement Specifications (URS).
So they turned to Xenosys and HBOS PAM (Procurement Activity Management) system was born. The system, which was developed using Xenosys unique rapid prototyping methodology, helps HBOS staff to manage and control activity associated with the procurement cycle; from customer visits, through projects and on to contract and renewals.
After design and analysis Xenosys produced an externally hosted proof of concept which was then used as an "Aunt Sally" to validate HBoS requirements and promote discussion among the user groups and across the functions within the bank. The design phase was iterative and was continued until very late in the project.
Because of the web based technologies employed Xenosys were able to accommodate requests for change and new functionality as the application was developed; even going around the loop several times in particularly complex and evolving areas.
Xenosys and Halifax were in constant communication and weekly conference calls with the user community ensured that the application completely met expectations. The result is a system which is exactly what HBoS needed to facilitate effective procurement and supplier/contract management.
It was created with less fuss than traditional methods and the less adversarial approach employed be Xenosys allowed HBoS to concentrate on what they needed without compromise.
Even the last minute addition of some extremely demanding security requirements didn't cause too many worries and the Xenosys HBoS axis took everything in its stride.
